Synergizing Yin and Yang

Probono

(Last weekend, students of NTU-Waseda MBA came to our office and we discussed about our marketing strategy. This article is contribuded by Harrison Moore)

Fresh faced and bushy tailed, Thanapatra “Nui” Horsuwan, Namrata Sen, Wendell Shirley, and myself, Harrison Moore, MBA students at Nanyang Business school and pro-bono consultants, headed over to The Conscious Lifestyle Pte Ltd (Singaporean distributor of Yin Yang Yoga & Active Wear) today for a marketing strategy session. This meeting was the first of hopefully many more to come over the school year.

Just as Yin and Yang intertwine, we hoped ourselves and this social enterprise would find harmony with one another and create a strong relationship, where we all could mutually benefit. We’d learn more about social enterprise best practices in Singapore and they could benefit from our own career experiences and learning in our current MBA program.

When thinking of where are talents could be best focused, it was an easy choice when we found something we identified with – a social enterprise that creates purely organic and fair trade products, gives back to the community, and has hopes of only giving more. Yin Yang Yoga & Active Wear is a truly remarkable product created with a passion for quality and comfort. It is appealing to those that value health and activity and deserves the opportunity to grow in the Singaporean marketplace.

Takako Ozone, proprietor of The Conscious Lifestyle, and Yongxin Chai, Sales and Marketing director, greeted us for the strategy session. Together they lead a business that is living and impactful. They have chosen to focus time and energy on this project, rather than just continuing in their highly successful careers. This demonstrates their passion for creating a product of quality and warmth for all. Even in the sweltering tropical heat of Singapore, the Yin Yang brand makes an ecological and social impact that helps provide security and protection for those who may not be so fortunate.

The key point behind this initial session was balance, how we can pursue a relationship, and how we can help one another grow in a sustainable way. How we can feed off one another, support one another and help establish a new yoga brand in the ever evolving Singaporean environment. Our goal is to advise The Conscious Lifestyle to make outstanding social impact over the coming year.

We will breed positive vibes and let Yin and Yang chase one another from day into night towards a common good for all.
